2019.08.17 Dickson County ROAD to HEALTH

Cactus Creek Barn is excited to announce an inaugural event happening this Summer on August 17th — Dickson County ROAD to HEALTH!

So far the line-up of activities is SUPER EXCITING!
There are three different competitions including:

1. COWBOY & COWGIRL “BODY FIT” COMPETITION
Jeans, boots, and hat required; chaps and spurs optional!

2. COUPLES (or TWO-PERSON TEAM) 2-MILE OBSTACLE MUD DASH
Benefiting DCHS JROTC program. Special prizes for those in wedding attire!

3. EQUINE MOUNTAIN TRAIL OBSTACLE CHALLENGE

Spectators will want to come and cheer on the competitors! We have a unique advantage in that we will be including an interesting partner in health — equines.

VENDORS

We want YOU to come and share your health education knowledge, health screening abilities, health evaluations, or products with our attendees! Vendors providing FREE Health Screenings will be given priority placement. Because of the venue environment, we also want specialty artisans and craftsmen to offer their services and/or products for sale.

Early Bird Registration 30 days prior to the event SAVES $15! Registration Deadline 8.10.19.  No refunds will be given after 8.10.19. Vendor booth space locations are first come, first serve. Please indicate on your application your 1st and 2nd choice locations.

6’ x 6’ Patio Booth = $40 (early bird $25), 8’ x 8’ Patio Booth = $50 (early bird $35), 10’ x 10’ Grass/Field =$35 (early bird $20), $5 Electricity Fee (Make checks payable to Cactus Creek Barn).

Please be sureyour FB ID is correct on the application so that we can find, tag, and feature you in our social media blasts. Vendors must provide their own tables, chairs, and canopies (if needed).

Booth assignment and any new instructions will be emailed by August 5th. Please consider donating a door prize for the event and one or two for the on-line social media promotional contests.

VOLUNTEERS

We are looking for 3 different kinds of volunteers:

1. Leader Volunteers: These include people who are detail oriented, love people, and are able and willing to donate 2-4 hrs week from now until the event. Must be available for at least 8 hrs on event day.

2. Obstacle/Trail Volunteers: These include people who love to build interesting things using mostly natural materials and may have 4-8 hrs (or more) to donate.

3. Event Volunteers: These include people who will be available for a two hour  information and orientation meeting on Saturday, Aug 3rd and then available for a 4 hr minimum shift either the day before or the day of  the event. You may be helping with set-up parking, directing people, monitoring obstacles, judging obstacles, attending to the sponsors, being a runner, adding up scores, and anything else that might be needed.

If any volunteer would like to register and participate in any of the competitions the schedule will be made to accommodate that time. All volunteers will get an event t-shirt.

2017.12.1-3 Christmas at Cactus Creek Barn Three day event benefiting Dickson County Imagination Library featuring a live nativity, vendors, gingerbread house contest, magician, photos with a horse, face painting, and food.

2018.04.14 Horse Health Fair featuring presentations and demonstrations to help horses feel their best at home or with a rigorous show schedule. Thank You to Dickson County Co-Op for sponsoring lunch and snacks!
